Abstract

Monitoring the vital parameters of a greenhouse namely temperature and soil moisture through Internet of Things technology (IOT). Irrespective of wherever in the world you are through IOT technology we can monitor and control the greenhouse parameters. All the vital sensor data will be available to authorised users via internet. Even though the technology is yet to take off globally, this report analyses the possibility of integrating a greenhouse and the IOT. The project covers wide area of embedded system and networking.

This Web page presents a low cost and flexible greenhouse monitoring system using an embedded MCU with Wi-Fi connectivity to the internet. The proposed system does not require a dedicated server PC with respect to similar systems and offers a light weight communication protocol to monitor and control the environment. To demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of this system, devices such as soil moisture sensor, LDR and DHT11 have been integrated with the proposed greenhouse control system.

Objective

The main objective of this project is to automatically control the system in greenhouse using temperature sensor, humidity sensor, and LDR. The concern with a lot of consumer needs and demand for the agriculture products has stimulated awareness among the farmer that increases their products in the market by implementing advance technologies in this industry. The products that are important that may come to the farmer ’s interest that controls the use of natural sources and natural environment which controls agriculture with various aspects.

This prototype uses sensors and nodemcu ESP8266 to carry out data from the green house with sensors directly alert the farmers to their mobile phone. Therefore, this problem makes farmers’ interest to implement agro conditions sending alert notification messages to farmers using nodemcu.

Also, the data is collected and stored in Google Database (Firebase) via Google Cloud and sent to this web page. The data is furthur analyzed and the greenhouse conditions are been controlled accordingly.
